TF2 has a lot of potential and will be very successful as long as the maps are well thought-out.
Looks more 'fun' than Quakewars

i remember thinking way back when quake came out that with a fully 3D engine you could make any environment you wanted, no matter how wacky. i'm amazed it's taken this long for someone to come up with a way of doing that (portal) makes gameplay sense

Whaddya mean? Teleporters have been around since pretty much the start.
BTW I think TF2 is gonna suck some serious balls.

Not fussed about TF2, but portal (ie Narbacular Drop or whatever it's called) will be amazing, especially if they make it nice and hard.
