Where's a place in London where you can try out mousepads and mice?
I need a new mousepad and don't want to buy one without trying it out first. I could do with a new mouse too
maybe, but don't really need one like I need a new mouse. Otherwise all I have to go on is some stuff I've read
about the mousepad on the internet. Not the same as trying one out.
I mentioned that I could maybe do with a new mouse aswell, cause maybe the shop would be interested in
letting me try out various mice with various mousepads if I was looking for a new mouse aswell but not if I
wasn't. I don't know.
Try out mousepads and mice?
I know this isnt what you asked for but I've been using this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6817114307
And it is absolutely amazing. The friction is so low that I can literally blow my mouse across it.

I'm using a ball mouse at the moment so a low friction mouse pad isn't really for me.bitWISE wrote:I know this isnt what you asked for but I've been using this:

I have this one in black:

One side is rough and the other is smooth. Huge surface and easily washable...
But as to your question on try before you buy, I don' t know.

You simply go to a shop and try them out; any of the standard UK big box shops should have some available :icon27:. Why exactly are you using a ball mouse? Optical mice are cheap and so are better video cards than the Vanta you mentioned using.DTS wrote: I'm using a ball mouse at the moment so a low friction mouse pad isn't really for me.
Cause the optical mouse I was going to go for turned out to have raised nobbles on the thumb buttons whichTormentius wrote:You simply go to a shop and try them out; any of the standard UK big box shops should haveDTS wrote: I'm using a ball mouse at the moment so a low friction mouse pad isn't really for me.

dig into the thumb.
Like I said I might get a new mouse aswell. This one works OK that's why I still use it. It's just the pad that's a
problem really. But if I need a new mouse aswell I could get one.
Money is a bit short. I could get a new graphics card... but I don't know if it would be woth it. I think I need a
new PC really. Maybe just the graphics card would do it, though. Maybe that's the only weakpoint in this
machine, apart from running the newer games.
I'm thinking of saving my money up for a new PC, see. Or maybe a PS3. I suppose if I could get a decent mouse
and mousepad combination that would convince me to stick with PC gaming a bit more. Maybe you're right,
maybe I should get a new graphics card, but I don't know if it would give much of a performance increase on
this cheap PC. It's only a 1.8 Ghz P4 with 512 Mb of RAM, and running XP seems to give Q3 low FPS. I was
getting a solid 60 fps in 1v1 on 98SE back with my old computer before it broke, that was with a Vanta that
had a lower amount of VRAM. Now, on this one, it can hardly hit 60 fps.
