Networking Troubles

I'll try to keep this short and clear.

Windows XP home.

A friend owns a restaurant and has several computers networked...he doesnt remember who did the networking and he knows nothing about it.

One of the computers died and he got a new one and we just set it up through network setup wizard as a workgroup computer.

All of the computers have the same email address so if you send an email to xxxxxx@xxxx.com, all of the computers get the email message.

Since we set this new computer up as a workgroup computer, only this computer now gets the emails. However, if we send an email from one of the other computers, the computer we send it on gets it and the new one also gets it. We can see the other computers from this new computer and we can see the new computer from the other computers.

How can we find out what kind of network setup is on the other computers? I think [maybe wrongly] if we re-run the network setup wizard on the new computer to match the other ones, this will solve the problem.

If I go to control panel, system, and click computer name and then click Network ID, will this automatically set the new computer up on the same network as the other ones? Like will it see the other network and just join it?

Or, is it an email setting?

outlook? outlook express?
either way, look for the "save a copy of message on server" (or similar verbage ) bullet/checkbox and mark it.
that should get it, little buddy

Sorry mate. Outlook Express.

I just looked through OE and didnt see anything similar to that. I looked in tools, options.

I had a thought. I could use message rules and make it all messages and then forward it to.....and list the other computers.

I guess this would work, but I somehow dont think its the right way. Meaning I think it's a network thing, but I sure as hell dont know.

No this forwarding doesnt work because you need to send it to another person and I think that is an email and the emails are all the same.

OK I found the right spot. You think this is all it is and not a network setup thing?

Wondering becasue the other machines are not servers as such.

When you check that box you're telling Outlook to leave the copy on the email server (usually your ISP's) instead of the default where Outlook downloads all messages then deletes all messages stored on that server.

LOL. Yes I realized at some point today that underpants message referred to the ISP server, DUH!
