Meh- just an 80Gb Hard drive and a few round IDE cables.
Throwing together a computer from spar parts to replace the old clunker my dad's been using as an office computer.
His old set up was:
Gateway GX-450XL
PII 450MHz Xeon
512MB PC100 RAM
GeForce 256
SB Live! Value
18GB 5200RPM HDD
Plextor Plexwriter 16/10/40A
Windows 2k
Being replaced with:
Asus A7V8X - Audio edition
AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1.0GHz
512MB PC3200
GeForce 3 Ti500
Using the onboard AC97 audio set up. (Sounds just as good if not better than the SB Live value)
80GB Western Digital HDD
Lite-On SHM-165H6S Drive that does more than mine. :icon33:
Windows XP Pro.
...all in snazzy Antec NSK6500 case
Not a new computer, but a significant upgrade from the pos he’s using now. It's basically my old setup.
And to be honest I may be upgrading again pretty soon, or at least some time after Vista launches.
But these parts are destined for use as my baby sister's computer after I'm finished with them. She's starting to become quite the little computer geek. :icon32:
Her two older sister's couldn't care less.
