I'm sure this is easy and you guys can fix me up quickly.
I just bought a HDTV and I want to make it so I can watch movies on the TV from my computer.
I have an ATI 9250 video card and I hooked up a cable to the TV from the video card with an SVideo cable. The image on the TV sucks so I'm going to get a vga cable to hook it up.
Anyway, I can't get the image on the TV to match the image on the computer monitor. I went into display properties, settings, and clicked on the 2 and checked off "extend my Windows desktop to this monitor".
It showed some of the backgrouind image, but no icons etc.
So then I clicked "use this device as my primary monitor" but still no icons or anyting except just background image.
What am I doing wrong?

Are your only options for Hooking up the TV VGA? do you not have a HDMI/DVI option?
Anyway, if you go into your Ati control pannel, then there will be an option to "Clone" your monitor on the TV..
forgive me if that is Vague, but its been a little over a year sence i last delt with the Ati control pannel.

I looked in the ATI control panel and don't see an option for cloning.
Under displays it shows the default monitor and below it shows where another monitor can be hooked up and it shows a TV and FPD.
I assume I clcik on the TV and that should do it? But will this just extend the screen or will it clone it?
