lol yeah that was what I was thinking too. But there it's through a secret. Isn't it acquirable without having to find a secret later on?

Yeah, I guess so Eraser. But there is a big difference between "secret" and "cheat." :D It's not the same thing as getting the BFG on e1m1 or something. :D

laptop gun in perfect dark was the noob weapon. q2 railgun should be higher, q2 bfg is cooler than doom's, fuck red shells in mario kart - it should have been that spiky blue one that hunts down the person in 1st.

Here's a better list (I don't play that many video games):
10. Halo - Shotgun
9. Quake II - Chaingun
8. Tribes - Mortar
7. Quake - Lightning Gun
6. Smash Bros - The Hammer
5. Quake - Rocket Launcher
4. Aliens vs Predator Gold - Flame Thrower
3. Quake II - BFG 10k
2. Quake II - Railgun
1. Tribes - Disk Launcher

DOOM II's ssg should be in there for sure. I'm actually a bit surprised that it's not, considering it seems to be everyone's most memorable weapon from the game.

I certainly remember the first time I heard it go off. Seriously. :)

Meh, my favourite Doom weapon was always the standard shotgun; perfect noise, perfect animation, perfect rythm...

im with mat. I only used the SShotgun for mancubi and the like. normal shotgun is where its at, I play the entire game just using it (and the RL for bossbattles).

also, Final Doom's SShotgun sound > Doom2 SShotgun sound.

Dooms shotgun was indeed the best weapon in the game.

I always plow through levels with that thing and never bother with any other weapons.

if they ever complie a list of the top 10 WORST weapons ever, the Piston in Unreal Tournament would have to top it.

ps. i think the gauntlet in q3a should be in the top10 best somewhere, nothing is more satisfying than bumping into someone with it causing them to explode into little tiny pieces

man, just playing perfect dark here for the last few hours, that Laptop Gun is fucking unstoppable. if ur playing a 2player deathmatch its basically the first person to get that gun is more or less the winner automatically

Why is the laptop gun on that list? The farsight was much more interesting. Also, the super shotgun in doom (it got me through the whole game).
