SF is a shit load of money. If I got a job there I probably would have looked for a place further north in Petaluma and made the commute. Granted it'd be a pain in the ass since everyone would be coming in and going out of the city when you are, but I think some scrill makes up for that.

edit: I guess Vallejo would be cheaper to, or a really shitty part of Oakland.

on third thought, I would just try to ignore working SF as much as I could. Gas getting into the city, bridge tolls, and parking fees is like at least an hour pay at some jobs.
