Windows Fundamentals

Post by obsidian »

Anyone know anything about this? I have an old laptop doesn't run XP very well (old 98 machine). I heard about Fundamentals and it got me thinking about converting the laptop into some basic Internet/typing terminal.

Should I just go for a "light" Linux distro or will this work as well. Can you actually buy Fundamentals?

Just get a slackware distro or something. Relatively easy to setup, I've done it before when I setup a dual boot a few years back.

not familiar with Fundamentals, but if you're willing to go the Linux route, almost every distro has a live version of it. try a few out and see what's best for you.

Or Ubuntu. Linux doesn't get much easier than Ubuntu (or Xubuntu, which uses the much lighter Xfce instead of KDE).
EDIT: this was geared at mrd's comment.

Well, I already have Ubuntu and a few other distros, I'm just wondering if anyone had any experience with Fundamentals running.
