What's with the ancestry obsession with you Americans? You're not some sort of Scottish-German-Cheyenne-Dutchee-English person, you're an American. My family originates from France a few generations back and if i recall correctly some other obscure branch is from Germany. But i don't go around calling myself a Frenchie-German, because seriously, that would make no sense at all to me.
Is it lack of cultural identity? What's behind this..?
Look at it this way, most cultures or whatever have certain physical traits that tend to stick out. Those traits are there because their ancestors came from that part of the world. I'm not saying I'm Irish or German or anything like that with any seriousness. But my family did come from those places and I do have remnants of that in me.
