Game of the year? Maybe! Gears Of War REALLY needs to be something special as much as I think it will rock... Damn, Vegas fucking owns though...
And I haven't even played the new Splinter Cell yet... Oh the 360 has sexy sexy shit out...

Get one, fantastic machines, dont listen the the sony tripe (As in its just not that powerful, lol, which is utter bollocks).
Anyway I haven't smilked as much as I did playing RB6:Vegas since, well, ages ago on a game. I walked away up to the door and said "breach and clear" in my head and laughed... Fucking ownage game. Really liked the fact I can repel down the side of a building, jump away, shoot the glass and dive in attacking if i want, Die Hard style
Oh man, I gotta get me some more money...

Yeah you really would have to be a muppet to be a 360 and NOT take it online with Live!, its just such a great service...
Well... Apart from when you play online PGR with my friend, and he screams down the mic "MATT DAMOOOOOOOON!!!" every time you over take him...
I gave him bad feedback for it, the faggot... He came knocking on my door screaming at me for it when i told him
Ahhhh... Memories...

HOWEVER...
If you draw a face on your ass, or balls, you CAN actually trick it into mapping them ingame...
Oh, this will be fun...

what happened to 2-5?
they're making a new rainbow brite?
Story, and gameplay.xer0s wrote:I have a confession. I've never really tried out the Tom Clancy games. I really want to try one out. What's the difference between Rainbow Six and Splinter Cell? Will they both have the same type of gameplay?
Rainbow Six was born as a tactical simulation. It wasn't a "game" it wasn't supposed to be "here, plan out your mission, kit out your men, and take on the situation". These days its more about plonking you in the middle of it and giving you a mission but the same basic thing is there; You start, and you have to reach you goal, which may be killing the torrorists, or it may be saving hostages, or it may be getting in/out without being seen. Ghost Recon kinda branches from RB6 in a way.
Splinter Cell is a different baby however. You play one guy every time, Sam Fisher. Your missions are usually steal based, as in, you get in, you do your objectives, and you get out. If nobody sees you, amazing, you did your bit, if they do, silence them and make sure nobody sees you doing it. Later games have taken more of a spin on things, adding extra action bits. The new one is the best of the series, with some really intense action bits.
Splinter Cell, more so in the case of the newest one, plays more like a "movie", with a "plot" and key charecters.
They are both awesome games, except Splinter Cell has always too kthe crown, because to be fair, Rainbow Six games in recent years have... Well... Blown, to be fair. However Vegas is such a good game, it ranks up there with the new Splinter Cell, maybe even higher than it.
very much no. its made by the same people who made Pandora Tomorrow and it shows.o'dium wrote:The new one is the best of the series, with some really intense action bits.
Chaos Theory is still where its at.
not saying Double Agent is bad, its just not a step in the right direction

I never completed Rainbow 6 or Rogue spear, though I got that compilation pack with all the goodies in it 5+ years ago.
Come to think, I'm wearing the t-shirt I got with it now
Great games but once you put them down they're daunting to pick back up again.

I really like the trust meter... I find it adds an additional element the previous splinter cells didn't have.MKJ wrote:very much no. its made by the same people who made Pandora Tomorrow and it shows.o'dium wrote:The new one is the best of the series, with some really intense action bits.

yea sort of. im also SO glad they re-implemented the instant mission failure element
OOPS some dude saw you using a gadget, doesnt matter if you have 100% trust, you're game over! annoys me.
and the soundmeter should be in there too

Yeah haven't really gotten too far yet so haven't come across that stuff. Guess it makes sense though if you were to get caught by the terrorists it's game over cause they'd instantly know you're not on their side anymore making it impossible for the story to progress... more of a situational thing it sounds like.MKJ wrote:yea sort of. im also SO glad they re-implemented the instant mission failure element
