VC, SA, are not 4 and 5. My understanding anyways.Kills On Site wrote:Well GTA 4 has been out for PS2, X-Box and PC for some time now. It is most often called GTA Vice City though. GTA 5 is coming for the PS3 and X-Box 360. Not sure on the PS2.
[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.
It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.
I am now sick.

You're right, before "4" was announced, Vice City was sometimes referred to as GTA 4 and San Andreas as GTA 5.Kills On Site wrote:Well GTA 4 has been out for PS2, X-Box and PC for some time now. VC and SA are not GTA4 and 5
They are Voliume One and Voliume Two of the GTA3 series of titles.
GTA4 will be a new series entirely.
Basic organization.

nope, it goes: GTA, GTA 2 (both for PS1), GTA3, GTA: Vice City, GTA:SA (PS2 and PC) and GTA4 has only just been announced.Kills On Site wrote:Well GTA 4 has been out for PS2, X-Box and PC for some time now. In all the previous GTA series (GTA3 and Vice City) i always preferred going around and doing my own stuff, drive cars, run in to thing, kill people, snipe, take on the police force that sort of stuff. Finding hidden secrets and exploits.
That was always more fun than taking some boring missions. And GTA: SA is the best for that. All thou to be fair, there are numerous gold missions that are a blast, but they are way to spaced out. And i hated those missions that seemed impossible, than one day you just take it on and finish it, just like that. All thou they are fun once completed
That is all.

Who knows whether the next GTA will turn out to be '4', or another named item. Doesn't really matter either
I'm looking forward to seeing what they do. Whether they'll play it safe or try and expand on multiplayer, maybe do something funky with each console's online architecture behind it.
On the other hand, as long as they deliver on a fresh new expansive and intriguing environment, I'd still buy it even if there was no notable improvement to the graphics or wholly new features. there's a lot of mileage left in what they've got.

defo, altho one thing thats been apparent in the progression from GTA3 to SA is that each game has gotten gradually more realistic, as in not only focusing in on killing and driving, but like everyday normal things like going to restaurants, out on dates, the gym etc. (more The Sims-esque if u will) so i assume the new one will only continue on further in that patternFoo wrote:Who knows whether the next GTA will turn out to be '4', or another named item. The number in the GTA series denotes the engine used now. So a GTA4 will have a name, but the number means it has a new engine. So it's no GTA3.
I want FPS prespective. At least in the cars and bikes and boats and planes and helicopters.

San Andreas took only took about 9 months to come out on PCCitizenKane wrote:i duno, im sure theyll bring it out for pc eventually, all the previous games were originally released for consoles and then released later for pc so

Actually if you think about it, imagine how great a multiplayer free-roam would be. Try some of those online mods for SA if you have the PC version :icon14:Dr_Watson wrote:sounds like you want a MMORPGTACaptain Mazda wrote:Indeed, just goes to show that gameplay >>> graphics.
But imagine a GTA in which you can travel from county to county, each the size of San Andreas
Or maybe even throw in Liberty and Vice all in one game:drool:

It wouldn't be two players tho mate, it would be like WoW, a few servers with hundreds/thousands of players on.CitizenKane wrote:Captain Mazda wrote: Actually if you think about it, imagine how great a multiplayer free-roam would be.
it would be good, altho pretty pointless, like imagine on a game the size of SA the two players would hardly ever meet. unless they made some sort of death match mode , thatd be cool :icon14:
