I was wondering something about the characters that you might be using. I've noticed some people have their own characters and when they log into an online room then I can see their model even though I don't have that in my system. But when I downloaded some new models people who don't have those models can't see it, they see me as sarge, why is this??

I do not understand how they see you as your true model. They would have to download it off you while your playing. I dont think quake 3 has that built in.

Possibly an autodownload of the server, and the ones you saw were regulars of the server?

And yes, you can't see the skin if you don't have it.
