That makes no sense at all you fucking moron. You're talking about a company that controls a good chunk of the global server market, I'm pretty sure they knew what they were doing when it came to putting together the cost effective and efficient Live service. Personally, the ability to host my own games with some friends is one of the main reasons I'm going to pick up a 360.
i'd also bet that microsoft would let microsoft use windows for free.Tormentius wrote:iluvquake4 wrote:Client runs Linux servers / Cost To MS = Zero

maybe even open the source up to them.
You sir, have no fucking clue what you're talking about. I gave you the benefit of the doubt and read your copy/pastes and they have no ground to stand on. Don’t come here and copy paste this bullshit off the internet.iluvquake4 wrote:TCP requires a lot more overhead due to the error correction techniques and P2P requires a lot more syncing blahblahblah.
Do you really think a dedicated server would somehow magically send data faster than having a 360 host the same thing? Go host an 8 player game and tell me if you see any slowdown in the game, because I sure as fuck don’t. In fact I would almost say that the only ping issues that are arising are due to the way it matches people with games. I think the player matching code isn’t taking ping between two people into enough consideration. I haven’t seen any signs of connections being overloaded (players jumping, game freezes). All I’ve had was delay of shots, which is a clear sign of high latency issues.
Oh and just for kicks, the game doesn’t use TCP you cunt. Learn something.

"If you still have connections dropping after that you may have a problem with your internal network (bad cabling or poor wireless connection?) or your ISP may be managing your network traffic. Contact your ISP and make sure they are unrestricted, in particular on port 88 (TCP) and port 3074 (TCP and UDP). If you still have no joy, take your XBOX around to a friends house who works and see how you get on with his connection. If he has the same ISP and it works, its your home network. If he has another ISP and it works, it could be your ISP. "

Fuck no, i sold that game and im avoiding you, dont want campers on my friends list.
You see, GoW is a TEAM-based tactical game where the maps are practically impossible to camp on.. therefore you think it sucks, because you cant win with a camping strategy.

[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.
It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.
I am now sick.

Yea, ofcourse you owned me.. we played once for 5 minutes and i was on your team.Doombrain wrote:

8 months playing it was more than enough for me, im moving on to new games where TEAM work is essential to win, not camping.
ps. i know doombrain, it hurts not having me to play with anymore.. thats why you keep brining this up.

Never seen anyone staying in the spawn area on Fuel depot.. ever.shaft wrote:
That map with the warehouse/chopper/gaspump...people camp that spawn inside the hanger all the time.
But ok, you can camp on one map.. and at spawn, sure, you can stand still and camp on every map at spawn point.. wont stand much of a chance though.
