Motherboard question

Post by Captain »

Just found this:

http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.ph ... cid=MB.157

Perfect for someone who'd like to use their AGP card and DDR RAM until a jump to a PCI-E card and DDR2 RAM. Absolutely perfect. But what the hell is ASRock? Probably some cheap brand, am I right? :(

Also, what are the HDD capabilities on this thing?

Stay away from asrock...

i have delt with a few of there boards.. and they are ALLRIGHT, if you dont mind to run stock config's at all times.. them being picky with Ram/powersupplies/cpu's/videocards/etc then sure man! Get it!

i would not recommend it to anyone though.

Here is ASRock' page on that mobo, click. It appears to have two IDE ports and two SATA ports.

I have never owned an ASRock so I can't share any experiences about them. I have heard nothing really about them. I would assume they are a cheaper brand, but I don't have a great clue.

Hmm, thanks. I think I'll look for an ASUS with these capabilities...if one exists for this incredible price :zomg:

But what do I do with my perfect, 5-month old ASUS P5P800SE? :(

ASrock is ASUS' budget department.

Meh, I'll wait until spring/summer before doing the whole panic-induced upgrading with hardware spewing out of every orifice. Thanks for the help :icon14:
