I work for id. What would you like to see in quake 5? We haven't started on it yet, but I will jot down your comments in my little notebook.

Recoil for all weapons, a remake of Lost Fleet (the bestest map evar) and models that camouflage completely with the textures on the walls, which would make for great duels with many guerilla tactics.

Thanks. It's been jotted down for future consideration. btw, I decided to give you guys a small peak into the future of q5. We at id thought long and hard about what would revolutionize and revitalize the fps genre. And we think we can innovate on that front by offering mutators (which basically offer a quick way of modifying gameplay settings), double and triple jumps, wall jumps, secondary fire for guns, among others.

We feel like it's something you've never tried before and will be quite pleased.

Be very careful to not turn Quake 5 into a try hard Unreal Tournament 2004, man.

Don't forget to make all player models have really large armour and shoulder pads. Have an announcer say stuff all the time, like every time you frag someone. I think that will be super cool. And bloom. Lots of bloom.

And instead of Quake 5, how about renaming the genre to differentiate between Q2/Q4 single player games and Q3 style multiplayer... call it "Ultimate Tourney", cuz that's an awesome name!!!

BTW, I'm Carmack's cousin, twice removed.

Q3A 007?

Post by LETSDANCE »

It's an odd question, but how about the re-make of Quake3arena? It's a classic, and since technology has moved so far, why not bump Q3A up there?

p.s. Is it al-ready being re-made?

I'm actually the sound designer for the Q3 Remake Project which we've now renamed as OQ3RMPV1 because people like acronyms. I just added in the machine gun sound clips which I stole off some other game.

Can you make it less graphically intense than other recent ID games. Im sick of the average fram rate that my computer produces to drop by ten frames with every new game i try.

Frankly no, you'll need a new battery, DVD-ROM, official ID motherboard, and a power supply to run the game. You won't need a video card.
