OSX is nice.....but I'm only going to consider getting one now that you can put windows on it aswell.

I've used Linux before and if you put in the time you will see loads of benefits from it. I just didn't like the fact it took me ages just to get a DVD to run on it (some legal issue?)

According to task manager Object Dock is using 6 mb of ram and - along with all the other crap I've got running - I notice no difference with it off or on.
But I suppose if you create 10 docks and fill em full of crap it could be a system hog.

note that this was a couple of years ago. i'm sure they've probably come a ways since then.
