Q3: Layout Test

Post by Kaz »

Hello there! I've been wracking my brain this past week trying to come up with a half-way decent layout, and I think I've succeeded somewhat. The item placement is probably terrible; I've not spent much time on it at all. Feel free to download and peruse, and to leave comments, of course. Thanks in advance!

I really can't separate "layout" from "item placement" when I run through a level, but here goes:

Movement throughout seems pretty good. Lots of opportunity for rocketjumping, I notice, which is fun. If you're going to change structural things: try to break up some of the longer lines of sight? But overall the size and scale seems to work.

MH down low in the water = good risk for this item.

The map has some really, really long lines of sight. Since you've included the railgun, I'd consider removing the extra rail ammo? Most of us hit with the rail most of the time we try, these days.. and you can see some extreme distances in this map.
