You do realize that he never answered my question in the first place an then just turned around and said 'You never answered MY question why it's NOT better?'?Tormentius wrote: Spending an entire page of a thread trying to avoid answering a simple question about your opinion on a fucking superhero movie hardly "proves" anything. :icon27:
And that's exactly what he kept denying and where I proved him wrong.
Just because you're just as retarded as him don't go spouting bullshit.

He answered your question in plain English right here:
Note how it clearly states which parts of the movie he thought were better? Is that clear enough for you yet or do you need it spelled out further?Law wrote:
I'm not sure what constitutes "dumber', but Xmen has superior script, stars, characters, special effects, plot and action.

A chair has legs, a seat, a backrest.
If your saying this chair sucks, and I say why, and you're saying "The backrest sucks, the seat sucks and the legs suck." you didn't say why it sucks. You just recounted the parts of a chair. There is no new information. Therefore you didn't answer my question.
If you wanted to answer my question, you would have said: "The legs are crooked, the seat is covered with splinters and the backrest has a pointy spike that punctures your kidneys when you sit down."
See? New information.
But you know all that. You just don't want to go into details because you know couldn't properly defend yourself.

Sorry guys, just because Wolverine comes across as all big and heterosexual X-Men is not a better movie.
F4 was awesome, people should just admit it.

I'm sorry to see you're obviously not the only retard who thinks saying "It's just better." (or "The following parts are better." or "All parts are better.") is a proper answer to "Why is it better?"
You tried to get out of this dilemma by saying that you can't argue over taste in movies, yet you (your party) started arguing when you said "F4 sucks."
So anywhere you go in this arguement, you will always turn out the loser.

See, you keep saying that, and I keep pointing out to you that you failed to give a real answer.
Maybe you need a change of perspective to understand:
Since you couldn't come up with any better answer than "It's parts are better.", you tried to turn this argument around and asked me "Why is it NOT better?"
I didn't answer that for a reason that I think must be pretty obvious to anyone: If you think "It's parts are better." is a proper answer, than I could easily answer your question by saying "It's parts are NOT better."
Do you get that?
My answer could have been "Script, stars, characters, special effects, plot and action are inferior."
That wouldn't have been very satisfying, now would it?
And now you know why I asked you for a specific reason why you think X-Men was better. Examples, if you will.
And at the exact moment when you give me that answer, I will be able to answer your question.

Either you CAN argue about movies, then you CAN say "F4 sucks." but you'd have to back it up.Nightshade wrote:Those examples are fairly specific. For shit's sake, are you looking for a doctoral dissertation on one film's superior use of Dutch angles in medium-paced action scenes shot on Wednesdays using no more than 47 extras and employing no less than four cranes?
Goddamn Germans.
Or you CAN'T argue about movies because it's all just a matter of taste.
The result is that we all say this or that movie sucks and we all know what happens when people actually discuss a movie's merits: a huge clusteruck.
However, what Law did was insist that "... is superior" is a proper argument in a discussion, and I refuse to let this idiocy stand.
And the more people agree with him because they fail to understand this (including you), the more desperate I get to make this clear, because I am absolutely sure that most of you aren't really that retarded.
