as a side note, K1 is on TV right now.

K1 and Pride are just about the only decent things to watch on Japanese TV.

That was the third time was it? I thought it was the second.

Do you think they stopped the fight early?

Yeah, this was Liddel Ortiz 3. Liddel only fights wrestlers and people he's already beaten before, didn't you know?

Nah I don't think it was really stopped early, to be honest I was surprised they didn't stop it in the first when liddel was dropping bombs unhindered on ortiz's face. I thought it would be a little more like when he fought Horn, in that he would be afraid to push the pace, but Liddell did a pretty good job of taking the fight to ortiz. Not to mention Ortiz didn't even try and disguise any of his shoots... there wasn't any guess work figuring out who was going to win this. If Liddell knew how to throw a goddamned kick, he would have put Ortiz out after the very first shot attempt.

According to all the homo's at the MMA section of bodybuilding.com it was their second fight. Apparently in slo-mo you can see Chuck landing a lot more punches than it first appeared when the ref stopped it.

oh yeah my bad, I was thinking of the other guy he fought 3 times and beat 3 times; Shamrock. I get confused by redundant matches.

You haven't seen any decent fights then.
in terms of raw drama, i've not seen anything to top that. Then again, something like that wouldn't fly as easily today, since the ref would proly have stopped the fight earlier.
