Are you being watched?
Are you being watched?
You know how when you have a room with the light on inside when it is dark out, you can see inside really easily? Does anyone else ever feel like they are being watched all the time and subsequently close every blind and curtain as tightly as possible?
or is it just me
or is it just me
heh..I think about the same thing. I hate walking across the living room or the kitchen at night with the lights on thinking somone could be standing 10 feet away in the yard looking right at me. I'm waiting for the day I'm walking through the kitchen and some face just pops up out of the dark right in the window and makes me shit myself.
When I lived downtown half the front of our house was just 3 massive windows - probably about 20 feet across.
There were already these thin wooden blinds on the windows when we moved in so we never really thought about it. After a few weeks, I was driving home one night and happened to notice that they didn't cover shit - when it was dark outside, you could see the entire living room as if there was nothing there.
I don't know how I didn't notice it before, but by the time I saw it, I'd already laid pipe on the couch, smoked weed, played hours of q3 right beside the window looking like a spaz.... Ever since then I've been really conscious of any windows at night. It creeps me out to think somebody could be standing 5 or 10 feet away from the window and I'd never even know it.
And from that point forward, I always wondered how much my neighbors had seen before I covered the windows.

If I had front facing windows it would be a different story. You have to be careful of what curtins you put up too because if they aren't thick enough, it turns into a silhouette show.

at home home
whenever i'm here at home i'm usually in my room which is on a second story with the window facing into ~1 acre of backyardage so i dont worry about any neighboring houses. as for a creep that might be chilling in my backyard....they'd either need to have a ladder or get lucky to even see anything; something has to be within 2 feet of my window in order to actually see it.
under the right conditions though voyerism can be kinda hawt, whether you're watching or the watched.

Kind of the same here, but across the street people live at the second floor as well so usually I do close the shades in the evening. I normally don't really have a problem with them being open though, it's just a bit cosier with them closed.Wabbit wrote:If I was at street level, I would close my shades in the evening.
Because I'm on the second floor and have no windows that front the street, all my shades stay open all the time.
