Pan's Labyrinth
7/10

It was a good movie with great creature's, and was well written. But I was kind of expecting more of a fantasy movie than a movie about the greater good, and sacrifice. That said, don't see this movie expecting "Pan's Labyrinth", because it has less to do with the faun, and more with the oppression and sacrifice the characters make for freedom.

i agree. overall a very entertaining movie. it seems to be missing something, i dunno. or maybe there were just too many stories going on at once.

7/10

i thought it would be a good movie too watch with my kid(11) but after the first violent scene with a bottle i switched it off. some other gory scenes throughout the movie.

not for kids.

Fearless

9/10

I liked the whole honor thing but I wonder how overly romanticized the whole movie was. I haven't read anything about the guy so I know fuck all.

You think thats fucked, watch the movie Irreversible. Replace the bottle with a fire extinguisher, and add a little more time to show the whole thing.

That's assuming you can even make it to that part of the movie. The entire beginning is set in a gay S&M sex dungeon.

pan's labyrinth - very cool - obviously the director had a fetish for graphic violence - but it ended up making it more of an intense experience - this was no ordinary fairy tale :)

Irreversible - 4/10
Disgusting, but interesting concept. Extra-Bonus: Monica Bellucci gets raped :icon14:

Extras

okay this is a british sitcom not a movie, but it's very funny. I've watched about 4 episodes from the first season. Ricky Gervais of The Office is the star.

I just watched the Samuel L. Jackson episode. HAHAHA

Catch a fire - 5/10

Not a bad movie in itself, but preachy and one-dimensional.

Written BY Shawn Slovo FOR Joe Slovo pretty much says it all. Yeah, you think your dad was a hero, we get it. Good thing you don't mention he was also a fan of necklacing.

That wasn't the end of the movie. Sounds like you totally missed the point.

Crank 6.5/10

I like Jason Statham, but this wasn't my favorite flick of his. It seemed a bit like an attempt at a tarentino style movie in its execution, but I thought the premise was good and made for a nice fast paced action flick with enough unique aspects to make it worth watching.

I'm afraid I'll have to wit for it on DVD. I don't watch movies in the theater anymore. But I will watch it for sure. :icon14:
