I get bumped back to Q3 menu, what goes?

The map is Q3DM2. Isn't that a basic default map?
I'm on a Mac. G5/dual/2.0ghz/2gigRAM/Comcast Cable
I play Rail and other games like excessive, then play the same map on another server and I stay. Why do I get bumped on some DM's?

that I do not have the correct map? I thought these were default maps, and that I can play them on some servers and then not on others. So I was wondering, if that is the case, how would I correct at my end? jr

turn on auto-download of maps and also having all those maps shaders is bound to cause a problem. all it takes is one map with a fubared shader to mess your game up.

The error message means that you're running the lakerbot mod, while the server is running baseq3 (regular game).

Chances are, you fucked up installing lakerbot and placed it into the \baseq3\ folder. You'll need to dig the lakerbot pk3s back out of baseq3.

start with a clean installation of quake3 .. you have so many pk3's that one of them is bound to have a conflict with the default idsoftware shaders,sounds etc

after that ,if it works install what you need to join the server or autodownload what you need to join.

it sounds like a mod may be a problem ..autodownload

Even still what? you have 81 maps, it drops one and parses 80 to make an even 4 split. Makes perfect sense.

but why even do that? Why not just have two or three on the map select window instead of the even square of four?

I hate that it drops q3dm0, i love it as a joust map. Some little things in Q3 annoy me...
