Router Recommendations
My Linksys router is a tired PoS and constantly freezes up and I lose my connection to the internet. Any recommendations on a good stable 4 port wired router? I have no need for wireless.

as far as i know only the wireless WRT's are supported. besides, they're not that much more and if you're not using it, you just disable the radio. i use DD-WRT but have also used HyperWRT. the differences are a myriad of different features and GUI representation. a couple of others are listed here under "third party firmware projects"Deathshroud wrote:Juggs, links to some good open firmware for the WRT54's?
EDIT: Or a better question may be, are there any routers without the wireless feature that can be loaded with open firmware?
if you go this route, make sure NOT to get one with VxWorks firmware, which typically have less RAM and flash memory. get the WRT54GL and you're golden. for some reading and forum discussion on each of these firmware projects, you can head to linksysinfo.org and poke around.
