I think he's just one of those guys that's got so wrapped up in his own delusions of grandeur that aside from convincing other people he's convinced himself.

I don't know anything about VE, but there's an awful lot of people in this thread who "always thought he was a bit shady", "have always known it" and "suspected it from the beginning".

VE was always cool with me and I do know he has had issues with people. He donated free hosting to my brother for his http://www.cobrakid.com site and it worked fine with a few minor hiccuups. One day it disappeared and I couldn't get in touch with him so I started hosting elsewhere. I lost my databases but it was not really a big issue. Thank god I always did an FTP backup of all of my content.

I recently got my brother's site back up and running with 4d's help.

I'm not judging VE on what was said, he was always cool to me; we had a few head to head arguments but everything was always settled.

I tend to believe Rogan about VE being a decent guy who got into some bad shit. Like VE or not, that guy gave us a lot of free server resources that probably cost him hundreds if not thousands of dollars.

I also think Dekard got dicked and I hope he gets his domain back or some form of settlement. It's something I would definitely sue over.

He was probably ripping off one of his other customers to provide that "free server", just like he did to Joe Rogan.

I'm sure some people here would still call him a Robin Hood of the internet for doing so. When all he really is, is a liar and a thief.

I'm thinking along the same lines as Dave and Joe Rogan here -- I don't think he was some kind of sinister con man. I think he probably just got in over his head on a regular basis and tried to use some shifty moves to get out of situations that he'd created.

The drinks and pills and wanted-for-felonies parts of the story are not really substantiated as far as I've seen, so I'm not going to be making any judgement calls about those - not really my business anyway, unless I'm thinking about hiring him for something.


As far as this place goes.... VE was probably a dick as often as he wasn't one, but people are entitled to be dicks if they want to. When he was hosting our Q3 server, I remember always having some drama swirling around whether it was up, or still existed, or what, and sometimes this would be for a day, and sometimes for a week or two.

Now I'm not saying this to knock him - he gave us free server usage for a long time, and I think that was awesome. All I'm saying is that it kinda fits with the story being told, in my mind -- I remember wondering what was going on with the server a few times, and nobody could reach him or knew where he was.

If I remember correctly, that's pretty much the reason there was so much demand for AxBaby's server to begin with - because it was always up, and if it wasn't we always had somebody we could reach to check it out.

But again, what he gave us was free, so it's hard to expect full time customer service for that kind of price.
