Dr_Watson wrote:so you got to the rainey town fight with the black mages, archers, and knights.
that's the fight they put in the game to seperate the pussy carebear bitches from the quality players interested in owning the game like a prison mob scene.
lol...I used to seperate pussy bitches from quality players when your mom was still changing your diapers, son.
as for this tactics nonsense, even though I bought it and it was praised as a classic, I still think it's fucking gay...I bet the chess nerds must enjoy it...or bowling players...rofl
dzjepp wrote:lol in all seriousness you didn't have to play the game like chess at all... you only had to find the best spots for ambushes and defense etc.
good times
I couldn't get past the 3rd level after 3 years, kid...this thing was simply too "static" for me...I need some action, none of this "wait for your turn" nonsense please!
tnf wrote:yea its a big bump, but this is the only thread I could find about this game - I thought I made one awhile back asking about it.
Anyhow, rented this game last week and am about 16 hours into it. Not bad.
Those of you who have finished it, how many hours can I expect to get out of this game from start to finish? Any suggestions you have to save me from having to replay long portions of the game due to poor planning?
Dunno.. Hated it so i quit playing it.
Fucking running around IN battles? Say what?
Because you don't move in real life battles?
And I like this one because its a bit removed some of the problems of FFX and FFX-2 in terms of storyline and some of the characters - both seemed like good games with a ton of shit to do, but...they were a bit too colorful and teeny bopper bubbly for me. This one still has its share of your anime inspired crap, but the story is stand-alone, and just plain interesting, enough to keep me playing.

Yes it does. Instant purchase!
Where were you when the West was defeated?

I think homo'dium is just pissed cause he can't play any of the Final Fantasy games because he's using a Nintendo piece of shit system...instead, he's just fagging it up on Sunday afternoon playing Wii Sports with the rest of the short bus club
I'm 29 hours into playing Final Fantasy VII again on my PSP... SORRY CHUMPO I HAVENT TURNED THE WII ON IN ABOUT 6 WEEKS.
MKJ wrote:so in spite of all your ranting and raving, you still choose a sony product over a ninty? :icon32:
Nah, the PSP sucks for the games it was made for. But for old school classics, it rocks.
And as for the Wii... Well its a great console, but I'm thinking about getting rid of it... There's just nothing on it, and 99% of the games coming out (i.e. all fo them except metroid) look naff, even Mario Galaxy...

(my 8-bit is in chicago with a friend... so this will have to do)
this brings back a lot of memories...I have all the old fantasies on emulators. I have Final Fantasy VIII on PC but I forgot the case at home and I bought Final Fantasy XI when it came out but I took it back to eb games cause I thought the idea of paying for playing was retarded....and the game looked very different from the other ones as well.
p.s. what's the deal with the finger...you want a piece of me boy?
Nikola Tesla was one dumb fat piece of shit...I still remember when sys0p destroyed him a few years ago...one of the best threads in the history of q3w
I got the hint book for this game on the cheap from someone who had finished the game because I wanted a resource as I am a bit of an impatient gamer and notoriously bad at RPG's when it comes to things like levelling intelligently, etc. What I'm not liking is that the book doesn't give me any indication of what level I should be at before certain battles, etc. It will suggest using a Technik or Esper or Quickening for a mark or something you might be fighting really early in the game - and the thing it suggests to use requires a license that is halfway across the license board, meaning you would have had to be hoarding LP's for hours.
I want to get the game moving along here - Balthier is 'waiting' for me at the Aerodrome to head off from Rabanastre for the first time.
Suggestions on what level I should be at before leaving that place for the first time (going to the flying continent to get Penelo?)
And, you get to complete hunts whenever you feel like it, right? So there is no need to finish all of them in a certain area befor leaving, because you can come back...right?
