Final Fantasy XII leaked (edit - tnf needs gambit help)
Like I said, I never really spent hours leveling up and I don't use gambits...I play the old school ff style...you just have to explore places like the Zertinan Caverns were I got lots of experience simply from challenging monsters in there..just explore places where monsters are stronger and run for your life when you need to replenish your forces. I think leveling up by running around in circles in the same areas over and over again is pointless and retarded.tnf wrote:I've spent hours and hours levelling - it seems like this game would be impossible if you just tried to move continually from place to place without spending time gaining XP.
Now for that faggot wall, don't challenge the first one, just go to the south of the area, keep going down and the wall will try to squeeze you there but you'll have much more room and time to slay it there. Hastega motes and haste spell would help you a lot to destroy it. If you don't have those, use your quickenings combos and hope for a long combo. I primarly destroyed it with a hastega mote I found during one of my trips to Zertinan

Never even heard of hastega nodes. I'll head over to those caverns and do some fighting and looting for awhile before going back to the wall.Duhard wrote:Like I said, I never really spent hours leveling up and I don't use gambits...I play the old school ff style...you just have to explore places like the Zertinian Caverns were I got lots of experience simply from challenging monsters in there..just explore places where monsters are stronger and run for your life when you need to replenish your forces. Do you recall what level you were at when you fought the wall?
Well I'm not saying that you absolutely have to go to the caves, I'm just saying that if you find any areas where you immediatly know you've got no business there cause the monsters are too strong, try to kill a few monsters there and I guarantee you'll level up quickly, even if you have to come back there a few times after saving. It's the best way to level up...find badasses and destroy them. Just be careful and use Libra just in case you really cannot defeat those monsters. When I went to the Zertinian caverns, the regular monsters were tough but I could destroy them...until I met a boss somewhere deep inside...thank god I could turn back cause I knew he was gonna crush me. I still haven't defeated it even at level 44...imagine that. Just use common sense...sometimes you'll find areas such as the FeyWood where the monsters are so strong that you have to turn back cause it's obviously a place you have to come back later on in the game. Try to smash a few monsters and watch your levels go up. Later on, you'll find items that double your experience and AP points.tnf wrote:Never even heard of hastega nodes. That big fucker blocking the exit in the Viera's forest, made out of all the brambles and thorns and shit? That guy was pretty awesome.
The main problem with this game is that my twitchy-button skills make almost all of the big bosses almost too easy since I just have to chain tremendously long quickenings to nuke some bitches. But I'm too much of a little bitch to just fight.

nah, I'm way too hardcore for the Viera forest, kid...I'm talking about Rafflesia, in Antiquity's End.Turing wrote:That big fucker blocking the exit in the Viera's forest, made out of all the brambles and thorns and shit? That guy was pretty awesome.

he's a bastard, took me 3 tries yesterday @ lvl 33
you have to lead him up one of the long halls where the zombies stop spawning; those fuckers really make things rough.
then you have to pound him with blizzara while having one person use lure and cures on your tank. (who needs a ranged weapon since the punk is flying) also sucks that he's immune to pretty much all status effects.
oh, to answer tnf about the wall; you can hit those torches on the right and left side of the path while fighting the wall to pause his movement. then pound him with everything you have. (this is one of the few places where quickenings are a good idea)
Ah I beat the wall - i skipped the first one and then was able to beat the second one without using the torches or anything. I kicked the crap out of him this time actually...I got vaan and basch new weapons that deal a LOT more damage and used a couple quickenings to end it before we were even 1/4 of the way back or so.
