Hard Drive Question

I have a SATA drive right now with XP installed on C. If I put a new hard drive in that is ATA and install XP on it....on drive C [by unplugging the SATA drive], what will happen when I put my SATAT drive back in?

I'm too lazy to back everything up and reinstall on the SATA which is why I'm wondering if I can do this.

Well since both are bootable there might be some conflict on which it would boot to, but it would pick one and boot to it. The other drive would be reassigned a drive letter in that configuration, but nothing would be deleted or altered.
