what do you eat in a day?

Post by Iccy »

Im still struggling getting my diet right. Im eating great goods. Cottage cheese, chicken, rice, quaker oats non flavored, eggs toast.

Im just looking for advice on what everyone else thats on some sorta strenious exercise program is eating and what time they are eating. A fairly detailed guide to what you eat that i can copy for now till i trust myself to experiment a diviate.

Once i get this down, im tacking it on the wall and sticking too it.

Thnx for any input.

And sorry if your getting sick of my fitness questions ill try to make this my last thread.

It depends, you cant just copy someones plan. How old are you, what is your body type, how active are you?

I'll post mine later, off to work.

Don't follow mine, I'm in college and I'm fucking busy so I eat out tons. If I can eat at home: cereal for breakfast, apple as I walk to class. Lunch is something huge and calorie laiden like a giant box of pan fried chicken with rice, and dinner I cook at home (last night: caesar salad, garlic bread, apple-honey glazed chicken

haven't been to the gym since november, so am not eating the same amount as i used to (will start again next week), but this is what my current diet is:

meal 1: 375 ml milk + 2 scoops of weight gainer + 1 tbsp coconut butter + 1 banana (mix into a shake)

meal 2: 4 slices flax seed bread + hummus spread + 250 ml milk + 1 scoop protein powder

meal 3: big bowl of quinoa and chicken curry + 250 ml milk + 1 scoop weight gain powder

meal 4: 2 scoops protein powder with water.

I use natrel lactose free milk 2%

protein powder is ultimate balance non flavoured - for every 35 gram scoop there is 32 grams of protein.

http://www.bioadvantex.com/02_ghealth_ubpure_non.asp

the weight gain powder is mammoth 2500 and each scoop has 230 calories and 12.5 grams of protein

http://www.interactivenutrition.com/pro ... th2500.php

The chicken curry is made with onions, garlic, ginger (fried in virgin coconut oil), cilantro, lime, ochra, chicken legs, tomatoes, salt, pepper. Gonna start incorporating whole chillis. Everything I use here is organic, except for the tomatoes and ochra. I make enough curry and quinoa for five meals.

when i'm working out, i eat 5-6 meals, and significantly more calories, but I generally get them from the same dietary sources listed above.

I also snack on goji berries and cacao beans when i have them.

I try to eat 4-6 times a day, smaller portions. My breakfast is the only consistent part of my day:

-all bran cereal
-one cup of orange juice with pulp
-one whole wheat toast with a few slices of cheese on it.

everything else is a balanced meal carbs and protein wise, trying to eat a good amount of calories according to my body type, so I cut back on fat, meaning cut back on meat and cheese and such. After a workout I drink a whey protein shake (powder + water).

Oh yeah, I eat 2-3 grapefruits per day, usually one or two after a meal.

eating meat is easy for me , real easy. its my natural diet.

vegetables tho, eating fuckloads of them is not easy.

eat tons and tons of the most hq vegis you can get.

they aid in protien uptake and have alot of healful stuff that a body absolutly needs when its going through something like what you want to do.

without them, everything is twice as hard for half as much result .

with them tho quality results have a much much much better chance to occur

hm, my "diet" is not super strict, but i eat 5 - 6 meals a day, my lunch being the biggest. i don't eat dinner unless it's on my day off. even then it's before 1800.

a typical day:

approx. 0430:

1 bowl plain oatmeal
apple
1 cup of coffee

appox. 0700:

banana (or other fruit)
myoplex 11oz shake

approx 1100:

brown rice
chicken breast
broccoli

approx 1300:

handful of mixed nuts
another piece of fruit

approx 1500:

bagel

approx 1800 (post gym):

myoplex shake with banana/yogurt/juice

usually do not eat after this since i try to be in bed by 2100. also, lots of water. sometimes a diet coke with lunch.

Before you ask about diet, you need to specify what you want to do. Do you want to just gain mass and not worry too much about a little added fat (because you are NOT going to add a lot of muslce without adding some fat in the process). It sounds like you need to gain weight, and you don't want to get too sloppy. I'm not going to say much other than you don't need to go overboard with attention to detail (i.e. "im going to eat 3.21 mg of pine nuts and 14.32 mL of skim goat semen and 3 cloves of garlic"). gaining the muscle is the harder part - and especially hard if you are trying to do it eating like that. It's why so many people don't get the strength and mass gains they really should in the off-season (off-season for a person who isn't a competitive bodybuilder being the time of year when you are focusing on building muscle and aren't as worried about how you look with your shirt off.) you've basically got a couple things to worry about: 1) get enough protein. That's the biggest consideration. 2) Get enough calories to keep you growing. 3) Find the balance of activity level/caloric intake that keeps you growing but doesn't get you totally sloppy.

5-6 smaller meals is critical. Getting the right amounts of protein in teh evening is important. One of the major lessons I learned while training with a bodybuilder was exactly how much fucking food it takes to really put on size.

But I'm not sure you know exactly what you want to do. that being the case, your first priority should be to spell out exactly what your ultimate goal is. Only then will a diet/training plan be worthwhile.

I'm trying to excel on both sides of the spectrum, it's very possible but it seems to be taking allot longer, which is prolly not bad since the overall time would pretty much balance out even if I separated my goals.

Based on experience and watching several people try both ways over the years, I'd say you'd be better off if you stopped worrying too much about getting fat and went full bore for adding mass for 3 or 4 months. If you are active and not a complete slob you aren't going to get 'fat.'

today i have had some teddy grahams, a bit of tuna, and some chocolate milk. i'll probably have some taco bell later.

But generally, if i have enough time I will stop at mcdonalds on the way to work and get some sausage egg and cheese mcmuffins since they are on the dollar menu, at lunch i typically don't eat anything big, usually whatever i can find since i usually sleep through lunch. and dinner, hmm i guess i wait until i get really hungry and if it's no too late at night i'll go get some food somewhere. usually pizza thjough.

My goal is... right now i want to put some mass on. Upper body and lower. I mean im more concerned about strength but i assume mass to a extent = strength. Then when i feel comfortable size wise, ill stop wanting to grow and want to maintain and then will focus more on endurance and cardo type stuff.

Im not looking to powerful and bulky, i wanna be fast quick and strong. I need to have endurance for paddling and power to pop up off the board and lower strength for balance.

Its all about the waves.

Does that help tnf ?

See now i was told to load up on breakfast then light meals all day.

So right now i have.

1/2cup quaker oats
1/2 cup milk
1tbsp ish honey
Little pepper
2 eggs
glass of oj and milk

i havent been eating till around 11, so i have to throw something in there for my snack i guess. That should be soimething light right? Like some nuts or something? Right now my snack when i have time to get it is like cottage cheese. or maybe a peanut butter sandwich crunchy style maybe with a little honey.

My lunch is generaly chicken and rice, nothing added but pepper.

Second snack is random if ever, ill work on that. But i assume this is something small too? Small sandwich, cottage cheese or some nuts ?

Dinner, chicken and rice or maybe a egg sandwich.

Lifting i do at all different times, i been tryng to get up at 4am, but as i work out more i get more tired and i threw my sleep schedule off cause i was napping in the day, so im all fucked up on that right now, but ill straighten that this week. Point is the 4am work outs been too much cause im so tired, i work 16 hours a day, time off during the day, but a lot of work in the morning.

Also, coffee. You guys drink coffee? I hear yes and no's from all over. I think it might help me if i do, but if its better for me to not... I dont know, i got this weird history with caffeine. But ill try again if you all are.

Anyway, hope that puts clarity on what im doing.

Thanks so much guys, i know im kinda slow and keep asking shit again and again, but what can i say, i got no one else to talk to about this. Everyone i know is a slob or on their way.

Thnx again.
