Possible to stop 'you fragged player' message ??

is it Possible to stop 'you fragged player' message from appearing everytime you kill someone? this is very annoying and makes it harder to see the middle distant area in front of you because of the text. i cant believe this option is turned on by default. i have looked everywhere for a console command to turn this off but i cannot find anything, perhaps there is a way to do so anyway?

also, is it possible to turn off the floating numbers that appear over the corpse everytime you frag someone?

I'm gonna guess and say you play vanilla q3, which is very limited in those customization commands, so you probably won't be able to do much.

cg_centertime 0 if you want it turned off, in cpma you can move this msg around like all the hud stuff

thank you very much i was able to successfully turn off the small numbers that appear over a fragged players, with seta cg_scorePlums "0"

but i have tried both putting seta ch_fragMessage "0" and cg_centertime 0 in my autoexec, and even typing them in the console once i started, but i am still seeing the you 'fragged player' message. what is vanilla quake 3? is that what you call a stock version of quake 3 with no mods? am i doing something wrong?

Yes, no mod...just plain from the box...eccept the 1.32 PR of course...lol

haha! that is a funny name for a stock quake 3, thats for sure. is there any mod that will allow me easier access to disabling this fragged player message? i hardly ever go online so i dont mind if it disables the online play because of the mod or something.

ive tried entering it into the console, saving it in auto exec, but ch_fragMessage "0" seems to not stop it! no!!

dubz - thank you! i should have put it in my config earlier, everytime i tried to exec that command from the console, it said it was cheat protected, but once i put it into my autoexec, it works fine even on normal /map levels, not just /devmap

JB - thank you for telling me about cpma, i was able to change the text size and such of all the health/armor points and made it so that there is very little textual screen noise which is the way i wanted it. thank you again!
