I just bought this last week end. Never used one before. It’s seem to be solid and accurate but I found the base is small. Do you have any idea to improve/customize the base and guide and the clip retainer? And any tricks/technical advices?
Thanks
That wasn't really made to cut 2"x4"s. You're supposed to use it to cut molding and base boards. Perhaps that's why you are having trouble holding it in place when you're cutting.

Hello my dear friend, I was sure you would reply in here. Show us the latest pics of your little boy’s house in the tree please, I loved it.
I just used it for the first time today to make some “cimèses”, I don’t know how you call them in English. We are renovating one of our apartments and we remodel the whole bathroom. Ceramique tiles almost everywhere, and over it, for the edge, we add a “cimèse” for a better look. It’s a piece of 5/8” by 1 ½ “ with a groove on one edge , that my brother made, so it can overlap the tile. I’ll show you pics when are done.

Just screw it onto a bigger and heavier piece of plywood or at least fix it with screw clamps to your workbench. Cant say anything about this "clip retainer"....don't know exactly what's that in german. But to be honest, this thing looks to me all in all like a crappy china made piece of scrap. Never buy cheap tools or you'll buy again...

Thanks for the advice. I used it again today to cut a few moldings and “cimèses” well, cimese are some type of molding. We are doing some renovations in one of our apartments. Tomorrow I’ll bring it home and I will fix it, as you mentioned, to one of my work bench. The retaining clip I mentioned earlier is a type of clamp that can hold the piece of wood securely. That piece is cheap as the guide also, but the saw and guide of the saw moves really smoothly and the base is not made out of plastic, it is a heavy iron base. 14 teeth per inches saw blade. Tomorrow, I will try it with hard wood.
I’ll be back to let you know…
