I just love QIII and I played alot 4-5 years ago. I just found the game when cleaning and I wanna see if I still got some skillz
I never was a true fanatic so I played the regular game with no mods or anything. Just clicked mulitplayer and randomly entered the servers. I read some topics about what to download and install and I have installed the point releases and some osp and cpma maps and mods. I think I have all I need I just don´t know what I have installed and how to use it.
I wanna know what I gotta do to go where the pro´s are ?
What is cpma and osp ? I clicked "mods" in the menu and entered cpma and there was some new maps and stuff. New layout too. Cool.
But when I tried to connect to a server I couldn´t get in ?

Hello. Don't worry, I"m the exact same way as you, just started playing 'seriously' recently.

click here ) Towards the bottom of that post, you will find a couple of things that will help you troubleshoot and fix not being able to connect to servers.

Thanks a ton for that walkthrough !
I have "completed" all the steps but I´m stuck at the last.
The HLSW part. I can´t understand shit.
Can you quickly tell me how to get started ? That would be awesome.
Is this the place where tye best players go to play Q3 nowadays ?
BTW, I have played some cool mods on some servers. Can I play a mod in a singleplayer mode ? I played a mod where you could rocketjump with the railgun. The railgun was the only weapon and you could jump high as hell when "rocketjumping".
How do I play that one on my own ???

New Q: When I try to connect to the servers in multiplayermode in Cpma I get sent back to the menu. What could be wrong ?

I can now enter a server but after about 2 sec I get sent back to menu. How come ?
And how do I set up this HLSW so I can get started ???
Also, where do I put the demos to show up in Q3 ? Which folder ?

Pull down the console (the tilde, a.k.a. the ~ key) and scan it for errors and warnings. When in doubt, type "/condump console.log" (minus the quotes) and post the contents of the log file here. Said file can be found in your cpma folder.

You said you installed this: cpma132-full
You shouldn't install that when you're installing cpma140. Only cpma140
