Is there a program that coverts the display to greyscale?

After seeing this page about NTSC colours I want to see what it's like to play SFA3 in black-and-white, cause it has lots of overly bright colours in it (such as the blue).

Hmmmm... if there is one video related tool that is a swiss-army-knife, it'd have to be powerstrip http://www.entechtaiwan.com/util/ps.shtm

There's also an option if you have an ati card to use of the shader effects in the control panel, I think there is a black and white one in there

You may be able to do it with your monitors control panel, or your graphics card control panel as mentioned. Look in the colour correction settings for Video/Full Screen/3d Overlay.

Edit: blah I'm wrong, only contrast gamma and saturation.

I tried PowerStrip and I can't find any option that changes the display to greyscale.
Can you? Maybe you know your way around the program better.

I found an option that makes it negative, though that's not really what I'm looking for.

Edit: I have an Nvidia card.

All I can do with my monitor's controls is reduce the red to black or the green to black or the blue to black (or combinations, the screen goes all black if all 3 are reduced to 0). It won't go greyscale.
I can get the screen to go black with two other options, brightness and what I think is contrast (circle logo which is half black). Reducing either to 0 makes the screen go black.
That's all that the controls on my monitor will do.

Or did you mean a control panel for the monitor somewhere in Windows?

Edit: On the up side, PowerStrip did allow me to add custom resolutions, so now I have widescreen for films and I can play SFA3 and other emulated games with the scanlines displayed correctly in full screen.
