Most people are too lazy to do it, but it's nothing really stunning. I speak 3 languages fluently + another 1 reasonably fluently and another 2 at a decent comprehension level, four of which I've learned intuitively. I'm sure if I actually had put any effort in during my 19 years of existence I could speak over 10 languages fluently by now. There have been linguists who speak upwards of 30 languages easily.

Though I'm probably considerably more gifted than most people when it comes to languages, I wouldn't call myself a genius and it really isn't that difficult. If you want to do it, get off your ass and start learning.

Don't hold your breath.

Talked to some Brain-Machine interface (BMI) neuroscientist guy about it and he wasn't impressed, even warned about potential longterm side effects.

I mean the part where I have an enormous brain, not the bit about being a huge geeky nerd.
ARE YOU SURE IT'S NOT JUST BECAUSE YOU BOTH SHARE A LIVING PARTNER BY THE NAME OF NEIL?!?!

So I just watched this today and I was just stunned. Doesn't matter if you guys wanna define a true mathemical genuis and what it stands for, but the stuff he's capable is just truely amazing.
Belgium is a muli-langual countgry, Dutch, French and German so to me languages are important, but fuck me, beein able to learn any language in just a week must be awesome. Socialy it would be so easy to meet new people in any country you visit.

And the way he was counting cards...I would make a living out of it tbh. Splitting and double splitting cards and have 21 and each card = ca-shing!

I was exposed to the other side of that coin in a functional, if not otherwise well performing college student.

This person had marked trouble manipulating numbers, double digit addition and subtraction type mental work. Truly fascinating.

Makes you wonder how compartmentalized the faculties are...
