need to get new mobo/cpu/ram but here is the situation... I have an AGP gf6600 and I am not so crazy about upgrading that for now. so here comes the issue.
I can find a 939 mobo that has both agp and pci-e(for future upgrade)
but 939 uses ddr400.
if i go with a AM2 mobo, which supports ddr2 800 then i will be better off suited for the near future and in case of any upgrades I'm sure ddr2 will still be around. But I cannot find a socket AM2 mobo with both agp and pci-e.
so what to do? am I shooting myself in the foot by taking the 939 road as far as 1 year down the line upgrade possibilities or what?
What about the performance diff. between am2 and it's new sexeh ddr2, and the socket 939 with it's aged yet well performing ddr 400?
Point here being that I don't want to be forced into getting a new video card atm. will I still be able to have advantageous upgrade possibility with a 939 or should I suck it up and go AM2?
upgrade time:: but do I get socket 939 or AM2?

the only one out there ( that i know of ) si the As-rock's Varient
http://www.asrock.com/mb/index.asp?s=n
They get mixed reviews, and thats putting it kind.
As much as you dont want to hear this, i would sell your current stuff, get a AM2 with DD2 and pick up a 7600/6600 PCI-E ( they can be had for ~$100 )
if you choose sticking out the 939 ( like i'm doing right now ) you are basically putting your back tot he wall, no-one makes any more parts or etc for them anymore, your only option would be New old stock, or used hardware.
the choice is yours, but if it was me ( because i am in a simular Situation ) i would give intel a Co witht here Core2Duo's.. they are just smashing AMD's and the Amount of overclocking you can pull out of those things.. its just not funny!
Just a little input for ya Tsa..
