Quake doesnt work anymore

I installed the 1.32 patch on my old version 1.16 i think, but right after that it says on start script "user interface 4, excpected 3" and doesnt start. i cant find the 1.16 patch. pls help

patch is not installed correctly.

Try again. Check file permissions. Re-install from scratch. Any of those.

Ok i was able to remove the 1.32 pointer and the game works again (in the old version). But i still wonder how i can patch it to 1.32.... If there is a way to do that without damaging the game itself pls tell me thx

You use the official patch installer rather than some dodgy zip on teh web.
