I gots it. Fun gayme. Haven't played much but I reckon I will play this for a long time (I haven't played gh before). And yeah I suck but I imagine over time I'll get better. The extreme songs are pretty hardocre, I manage to fuck them up royally.
I would get a second controller but paying 60 for it sucks. Wish they would have a deal where if you bought the game + guitar the second one would be like half off.

I bought 2. i said fuck it. 2nd one hasent even been touched yet, but still itll come in handy.
I agree tho. 60 bucks fuckign stings for a damn controller. Then again, a normal 360 wireless is that much. But again, the PS2 controllers were 40. :-\
After playing lamb of god again on hard, i realized why i dont play on hard. They take out to many fucking notes so your strumming where notes SHOULD be.
Thank christ this is almost over. Man i hate hard. Its so stupid sometimes.
I just got finished beating Expert to unlock/buy all the songs. Dead! by My Chemical Romance is a fun song to play (and listen to, to boot). I enjoy most of the songs that were added to this version of the game, but the bonus song list additions are arse.
I noticed the timing feels a bit off compared to what I'm used to, but I don't know if it's my imagination or if the threshold for hitting notes was reduced by a fraction.
The biggest disappointment was that the Select button is depressed instead of raised like on the PS2 controller, so I can't use my palm to activate star power anymore. I hate tilting the guitar, it throws off my rhythm... :icon7:

Who else?

I finally found a copy in the "changed my mind cart" at Best Buy. I've gotten all the easy achievements but I need more time to beat everything. I came so close to 200k on several songs but that seems to be my challenge atm. I was a late bloomer with PS2 GH so I still have trouble with the hard hard songs and a lot of expert songs. Plus I need to convince a roommate to buy another guitar or hope one of my friends gets a copy.
Have you tried the bonus song Drink Up? Its hardcore and a blast to play on hard so I'm sure expert will be nuts.

It's not really that good of a song IMO, but it is a decent challenge compared to most of the other bonus tracks.
Try out Dead! on Expert. Part of the chorus has you hitting G/B/O at the same time multiple times in a row. Lucky me I have long fingers.
Well, I'm a bit partial since I like heavy/death metal and there isn't much of it on the game.
Yea I can hit the combo no problem but depending on what else they are throwing at me I would probably have a hard time. I decided to focus on clearing hard first before I spend time on expert because on the PS2 version I never beat the last few songs.

Its a shame they seemingly "added" difficulty to a seemingly easy song IRL to play. Fucking hate when they do that.. Dead should be a tier 2 song at most, but they moved shit around to make it harder..
I can honestly say, Its the only song on there that i go "wtf" while playing.
Your not alone on the timing thing. Its because your used to the PS2 version acting all gay and stuttering.
at least, thats what i thought. on hard youre actually playing the song, while on medium its missing a lot of very obvious strums.. i have to keep myself from strumming those missing notes because im so caught up in the song.
anyways, common sense tells me not to get this because i already own both GHs for PS2. however, the achievements and the downloadable content (bark at the moon reworked \o/) really makes me want to get it
edit; oh and since i dont know anyone else with a 360 *and* a GH fan i wont be getting the coop achievements :icon6:
hammeron/pulloff. its when you strum a note and then *hammer on* the next higher note without strumming. pulloff is the same in reverse.
you cant do it with just any note though. if you look closely you can see that there are 3 different kinds of notes; starpower (duh), normal note and 'open' note - the open notes are the same as normal notes but without the black border at the top. these are the ones that can (and should) be hammered on or pulled off.
try Shout at the Devil on medium in practicemode, the lick during the chorus is all hammeron
