If you need to talk that much just go private chat. Or better yet, tell your friend to piss off for a bit if it isn't important and if it is, pick up the phone.
those extra clampy things on the conventional controller aren't really necessary aside from the headset that comes with the system. Any headset for a phone, or PC or whatever will hook into that port no problem, you just probably won't have the volume control. But who really adjusts the volume in any direction but up?
