Graphics help here....

Well, I have one problem here, I can't play Q3 on my pc cause the OpenGL isn't updated, but, to update, I need know the number version of my video board... And I can't open, I bought it just 2 month, I need know if have some program, or something to play q3 with software graphics, or another thing like that... Something what look what my pc can 'play' and make q3 works with that... plz Help me here....

Dude if you bought your PC 2 months ago you shouldn't have to do jack shit to make Q3 work.

If your graphics card is ATI or nVidia then it doesn't matter what model it is, the drivers are all the same package (except in 1 or 2 rare cases).

You can usually id a graphics card by opening Display properties and looking at the bit where it says '*monitor name* on *card name*'

If its an intel intgegrated graphics chip you can ID it based on the motherboard type. If you bought your system in the last 2 months you should have this information on-hand.

As for updating OpenGL.... the OpenGL driver comes packaged with your graphics card driver, there is no seperate OpenGL installation needed for any modern card.

Well, I am thankful for help how to know about this, but I know how to see my graphics video, and my WinXP didn't know <don't have any information> about this, I had downloaded a program tell me informations about my PC, and I know what is... VIA/S3 Graphics Unichrome Pro, but have no just one of this, have VIA/S3 Graphics Unichrome Pro #8000/ #8500, and other, about 6 or 8 with same name, but different numbers... I know about how see my bideo card, But anyway I am Thankful

(Later will buy an nVidia or Geforce and PLAY IT!)

And .gif is the real size, it's duke nukem, never was very nice on graphics but, nice game...

Your video card might not have all the requirements to run quake 3. You can try and run the glsetup program that comes on the quake 3 cd, it might help, but it will still run like poo.

You're only supposed to show your sig once per thread. You better uncheck the 'always show sig' option in your profile before you get deleted.

Try to put quake release 1.32c over quake3.exe and it might work, i got quake on vista on that way
