I spent 4 years driving in Florida, Daytona to be precise. Learned how to ride a motorcycle there. Had numerous close calls with the blue haired set, and I'm still alive. Your thinking is deeply flawed.YourGrandpa wrote:1. We live in Florida where the oldest idiots clog the road ways.
2. My wife drives around 30,000 miles a year.
3. My son is with her a lot.
Now my wife with be able to run over the 80 year old dementia sufferers when they cross 4 lanes to make a turn.

You're one of the guys I see on the interstate chugging a gallon every 8 miles, bouncing on the seat from the stiff suspension, riding in a massive off-road toy that isn't even built well enough to do real off-roading, to work every morning. i.e., a complete fucking idiot.YourGrandpa wrote:Yes, look at me I'm a big asshole.
Driving a Hummer.
What's even better is you bought it for a woman to drive. That's gonna turn out well. I mean, if she's one of those women who don't care about little things like comfort, economics, ease of driving, but instead just wants everybody she knows to see her in an expensive vehicle, she might even still love the thing after 6 months."expensive"

Probably was thinking about the H2.

H3 is nowhere near the size of a full size h1 hummer. Its even quite a bit smaller than an H2. You probably wouldnt fit in it.GONNAFISTYA wrote:land-yacht Hummer instead. .

Yea, I was. I forgot the H3 is even less 'high-end' than the H2 was.shaft wrote:

i.e. it's even more shit. lol
The original Hummer was an ass-kicking piece of machinery - practically the military model with a few things stripped off.
Ever since then they've been dumbing it down and "consumerizing" it more and more.
Now it's nothing more than a regular SUV that doesn't even perform as well as most SUVs on the road. The only thing you can buy it for is the looks or the "wow value" (as if). You certainly don't buy it for performance if you've done any research.
BTW Gramps, what I find the craziest about your decision is your justifying it by saying your wife drives 30K miles a year. What in hell were you thinking? For $30K you can get a safer, more comfortable vehicle that doesn't break your bank with the gas mileage. Sure she may not be able to haul 32 cubic feet of shit in it -- but don't you have a pickup for that?
