``Defragment your disk for Dummies.``

Man, I didn’t do it for nearly three years. Last summer, I start it and a dialogue box told me that it didn’t need to be defragmented. But now I’m feeling my PC going slower and I want to do it. It’s been so long since I did one that I don’t recall what are the steps to do a nice one. Do I have to do ``clean up the disk`` before and then defragment it, and I have two partitions and I never did it before, I did it on one PC that had only one partition. Can I do them together or do I have to do them separately. Thanks for your help. Also, it's only a 40G but still. do you have any idea how long it takes...A few hours...

Can't determine time... I'm guessing a while since you've not done it in almost 3 years... also I would recommend and Disk Cleanup beforehand but it's not necessary.
