Hey Turb, I changed my nick from - Ultron - to DTS, cause that's the nickname I use in Q3A.

I suggest a mouse trap for the mouse rather than waiting for it.

Good to know you live in London now. Now there's a small chance of us meeting up. I don't think I would ever have gone to Wales to meet you.

I bet you'll miss Wales, though.

Don't ever change.
Don't ever change what? My nickname? My personality?

If you mean my personality - people change all the time.

If you mean my nickname, do you mean I shouldn't change it again, or I shouldn't have changed it in the first place? Do you mean people shouldn't change thier nicknames? In general?

Great questions.

What I meant to say was, do not change your internet persona. Just that.

I hope this cleared up the confusion.

Persona is personality; like I said people change all the time. So I can't guarantee that my internet persona won't change. I wasn't sure if I had the meaning of "persona" pinned so I looked it up in on Wiktionary. Apparently it's to do with making an "act". I don't think I put on an "act" online; though I don't say some things that I would say offline.

I think it's an ambiguous word, cause the first meaning is "A social role".

So I take it that you are basically saying "don't change the way you behave online" or "don't change the way you act online".

Well I don't think I act online much different than how I act offline, apart from not saying some things, like I said.

Anyway, as people's personality changes, so thier online behaviour changes, unless they are maintaining an act.

Yes, I can't argue with that.

I sense a distinct lack of pretense, double speak, and innuendo in your posts. These are characteristics I find admirable in fellow forum members, given how the cloak of anonymity often brings out less desirable personality traits in individuals.

:)

Care to explain what double speak is? It's not on Wiktionary and Urban Dictionary doesn't say much. I tried Dictionary.com but that had no entry for it and so it just searched the web for it. That brought up a Wikipedia entry. The Wikipedia entry is a bit wordy. It really needs a dictionary entry. Well if you don't want to explain it that's OK. I think I got the gist of it.

I don't think I've seen double speak on forums, maybe cause I wasn't familliar with the term.

In the Wikipedia entry it's actually done as one word, doublespeak, in line with George Orwell's invented words (he didn't invent this one, it says).

I'll look out for it. Doublespeak on forums, I mean.
