Get out your Consumer Reports "Best and Worst 2007 Cars" and take a look.Nightshade wrote:Where the hell are you seeing that the H3 is rated better than most SUVs?
Out of the 56 SUVs rated by Consumer Reports, the H3 is clearly better than 29 of them and about the same as 4 others. Hummer beats out the likes of the BMW X3, Infinity QX56, Cadilac SRX, Land Rover LR3, Mercedes M-Class, Nissan Pathfinder, Volkswagen Toreg and Volvo XC90. The H3 is rated about the same as the BMW X5 and the Infinity FX. Of course the Toyota and Lexus win out every time.

Looks did play a part in our decision. Would you ever buy a car that you didn't like to look at?Grudge wrote:So you bought it based on it's looks?YourGrandpa wrote:The Toyotas looked really plain, didn't handle any better and offered less for more money. The Sequoia was a big square box with no defining features and only came with a V8. The 4-Runner looked the same, but was too small.

Questions that could have prevented this tragedy, if only Gramps had thought of them earlier:
1. "I am going to buy a Hummer!" ... Does that really sound like the best idea?
2. Is one major hurricane per year really worth driving this car all year round?
3. That new BMW X5 looks really hot, maybe I should get a good car instead of that Hummer?
4. How many days a year are the roads actually flooded? Maybe I could get a great practical car for my wife, like the Audi A3 Sportback, the BMW 3 series, or even the Alfa Romeo 159 Sportswagon?

Don't have the Consumer Reports in question, but I've seen figures showing the H3 to be a piece of crap. See this thread for reference.YourGrandpa wrote:Get out your Consumer Reports "Best and Worst 2007 Cars" and take a look.Nightshade wrote:Where the hell are you seeing that the H3 is rated better than most SUVs?

That aside, why the HELL would you want to buy from a company like that? Oh and got any crash test data on the H3? I'll bet they suck ass.

The H3 dwarfs all of those and rates the same or better. I'm sorry, but my wife doesn't want to ride one of those skateboards to work every day.SplishSplash wrote:Questions that could have prevented this tragedy, if only Gramps had thought of them earlier:

BTW, the 07' H3 rides great.

This thread is filled with misinformation and uniformed opinions. So referring to this thread wouldn't make any sense.Nightshade wrote:Don't have the Consumer Reports in question, but I've seen figures showing the H3 to be a piece of crap. A company like what?
I'm sure the crash test data can't be that bad since the H3 has a complete tubular chassis and airbags everywhere.
