How about one more question.

Is there an Allah? Yes or no.

If there is a God, he won't be offended, and if there isn't, who cares.
What you're saying is that you don't believe he exists, but you are going to act like he does to hedge your bets.

This reasoning always kills me. If the biblical god exists, then they only way you're getting into heaven is by truly believing in him - in action as well as words.

The wager is vacuous and gets you nothing, because your belief is cynical and dishonest.

In other words, if you're going to say you believe just because you have nothing to lose then, in actuality, you are losing the wager to begin with. The bible is pretty clear about what you have to do to get into heaven. And if you really believe the bible (i.e. believe in the god who created it), then you have to live your life according to every word of the bible, as it says.

The bible says that you have to follow it to the letter - so if you don't believe you have to follow it to the letter, then you don't believe it's the infallible word of god. And if you don't believe that, then you don't believe in the christian god.

So anybody taking the Wager is going to hell anyway, if it exists. Unless the Wager makes them decide to live their whole life according to the gospels.

So you don't believe in god (i.e. you're not convinced that there is one).

But this doesn't mean you believe absolutely that there is no god.

Is that accurate?

If you don't want to participate seriously in a discussion that's fine.

But why sit on the sidelines and try to make light of people who do?

What I mean to say is I do not have enough information to fully conclude that God, defined as the entity that brought us into existence, does or does not exist. I have enough information that allows me to not believe in many of the supposed qualities of God that you find in religion (such as the personified God, the vindictive God, the God who meddles in the daily life of people). But, even though I do not believe in that type of God, I do not have enough information to fully disbelieve in other, more abstract and more scientifically compatible versions of God that you find in Spinoza or Einstein.

We're all living inside a computer simulation of the universe in the bedroom of some kid, and he's getting bored of this game, so let's all start worshipping.

...or a least let off an almighty collective "fuck you" before he pulls the plug.
