Now this Jack Thompson or whatever his name is is blaming the killing on Counterstrike. Apparently countersrike is a 'violent video game that teaches you to kill people like this with all sorts of weapons without getting your heart rate up.'

The lawyer has no proof as to how much he played the game - even though his roommates are saying he spent most of his time playing typing essays on the computer. Don't the japanese play more violent games than we do here in America? Why aren't they killing each other?

Chris matthews is hammering this guy though - calling his bullshit for continually using other cases to explain why THIS particular one happened.

the only thing I can agree with is that shooters can give people tactical skills and knowledge they would not have had otherwise. what that really has to do with this, I don't know. not much IMHO since what this guy did isn't really like counterstrike.

So teachers had marked him out, he'd been to a counselor, he'd been in a psychiatric hospital, there were all kinds of warning signs. Does anybody know which anti-depressant he was taking?

I wonder if there was anything that could have been done, aside from locking him up, that would have kept him from doing this.

no shit this is not an easy situation to criticize , seems to me that everyone around him took the right steps, in this situation it was too little too late... or his prognosis was inaccurate

1) when, if ever, do we get to see his suicide note?

2) are there any details on the tactics he used to kill so many people? I heard he only used two pistols?

The only detail I've heard is that he lined a bunch of kids up and killed them all point-blank, execution style.

Jesus christ you stupid fuck. The first killing was at 7:00 am and HE ONLY KILLED TWO THEN.

Following that, he went off for two hours, mailed his shit to NBC, THEN CAME BACK AND TOOK OUT 30 OTHERS AT 9:00 AM IN A BUSY CAMPUS BUILDING. So he did use a few 'tactics'.

The building where he did most of the killing wasn't a dorm hall, it was a classroom building.

He went from classroom to classroom, stepped in the door and started firing. There's not really anywhere to run in a situation like that. One of the few girls who survived in one of the rooms did it by playing dead, which was pretty smart.

It sounds like this was all pre-meditated.

There's also a possibility that only the dorm shooting was pre-meditated, and after he came back and mailed all his shit off, and realized they still didn't know who he was, that's when he decided to shoot up another building and go out with a bang.

He wasn't stupid, so it's kind of hard to think that he knew for sure he wouldn't be caught after the first shooting.

For that matter, it seems like he would have known there was a possibility of getting caught after the first shooting, so he might have recorded all this stuff earlier.

Everybody's assuming that because his video shows him saying "I did it," then that means it was recorded after the act, but I don't know why they're so sure about it.

It's all just speculation at this point anyway, just thinking out loud...

Compare this to columbine where you have 2 people with considerably more firepower, yet only killing 12.

Julios, it appears he used hollow point bullets which are more lethal than regular bullets. That might have been a factor in the large number of deaths.

yes, future disgruntled employees & students should definitely be able to learn a thing or two from this.
