did you download 1.32c or 1.32?
iirc the 1.32c is a hotfix only

what pk3 files are in your /baseq3 directory?

If you pull down the console (the tilde), what version does it say in the lower right corner?

You will probably have a baseq3 directory inside baseq3 then, and the 1.32c quake3.exe inside (the first) baseq3.

In other words: you should have installed it in the Quake 3 (e.g.: c:\program files\quake 3 arena\) folder and not in the baseq3 folder.

I did so. My quake III arena 1.32c folder is in (C/programfiles/quake3)

1.32 is the correct version. Either your installation wasn't completed correctly or you don't have the 1.32 patch installer.

If youve got the 1.32 installer, make it install to a temporary directory (e.g. c:\TEMP\) then manually copy the files into your real quake install folder in program files.

The files you need are the quake3.exe and all the pk3 files, plus the folder called 'pb'.
