Best Gaming Mouse

Post by Kills On Site »

What is the best gaming mouse. I am pretty partial to Logitech, but they have all the G5, G7, MX518. I do like corded, partly because it can't fly off of a table. What would you guys recommend?

Also, what are good gaming surfaces? I still have a Ratpadz GS, but I think it is time it got retired. It can't be too incredibely massive, as I going off to a small dorm room at State in the fall.

i'm kickin a MX500, and i enjoy the thing..

a budy of mine has a G5 and however simular, i dont like it.
No Forward button, the Speed buttons get annoying.. the weight is never quite right.. the software is shit ( what else is new? :) )

so my Vote would go for the 518 is any..

I do have an MX510, however the new mouse is for a new computer, so I can't just take the MX510. I do love it so, I was just wondering if there was anything that had yet to eclipse this mouse.

We'll just call it a unanimous vote for the Logitech MX 510/518.
Not like anything could beat this little beast. Thinking of buying a second one for when this one breaks down, if it even ever does.

I thought so, just wondering. How about gaming surfaces. The Ratpadz has worn on my computer and has caused scratches on the pads and bottom of my mouse, so when I go to college I would like a new surface.

Well the surface I want is something that will keep the mouse feet smooth and won't cut or scratch them. I am thinking the func f-series 10s.

I got an S&S Steelpad with my mx510 as a bundle and the pad has outlasted the mouse. By contrast I bought an everglide and it wore down within the space of 2 months.

If you can get a bundle deal and especially if you can get some of the additional slippy pads for the mouse base, go for that option. Works nicely.

I also have the old two-sided, rubber base funcpad which makes it even better.

Well I was at Target yesterday and there was an MS518 and G11 just sitting there, I had to get them. I do love the MX518 and the G11 is an awesome backlit keyboard with F keys that are only F keys, oh how I love that. Now that I have the MX518 I notice that my MX510 is not as nimble, and I think that is due to the worn feet on it, how can I replace the feet on the MX510? I mean permanent foot replacement, not the shit that slides off or peels after a week, what are quality replacement feet?

The ones that come free with steelpads (sorry don't know name but you can probably search it out) or get a roll of teflon tape and craft some yourself.

I've owned a 510 and a 518 and they're both solid. The only thing to watch on the 518 is the drivers - disable the sens switching buttons and lock the dpi to 1600 unless you really have to use them. Otherwise it'll switch at odd times and throw things off.

Hate the cord.
Really hate the laser location.
Software bugs out ALOT and fucks up the mouse speed.
