Hey, Whenever I try to run Quake III Arena, the sound is out of sync with the game, for instance when I fire a weapon, it takes about 3 seconds for the gunshot to play. Even in the menu, when I click a button, it takes a few seconds to play. Any ideas on what this could be?
I will try messing with those commands and see if that helps.
EDIT: the commands dont seem to help at all. I cant update the drivers for my soundcard as they are system onboard, and the manufacturer does not offer drivers.

There's a few different flavours of sigmatel devices mostly based around the ubiquitous AC97 chipset. But if you've got the latest dell drivers and they've installed OK I'M at a loss for a solution on this one
I found the problem! I noticed that quake 3 was not the only program that experienced this problem, then remembered I had recently played the PC version of Second Sight, for which I had to turn off my hardware acceleration for my audio card (The game has problems with onboard cards, If you dont turn off HA, it plays the audio super fast and high pitched.) I just forgot to set it back on when I was done. Set HA back to full, and now quake 3 runs fine, along with all the other programs experiencing the issue.
