Look for Benro tripods on ebay. Gitzo tripod ripoffs made in China of carbon fiber with Arca Swiss quick release ripoff ball heads for substantially less than you'd pay for the western version.
I enjoyed that mini series Dave. Nice little exploration with light and shadows.
dmmh, you don't need a heavy big tripod for your little cam. Look for a simple Manfrotto(newest 190) /w ballhead(486RC2) or equivalent for around $100USD.
Danke sir. I need to go up there some day when there is direct sunlight coming in. It was overcast that day
A remote release is a lot more useful for long exposure than an expensive tripod any day. The main reason I prefer CF is that doesn't weigh hardly anything, which is nice if you drag it around all day.
The M, C, R, B, Bk and G levels haven't even budged, and I've printed over 400 pages. The only thing that surprises me is that the Bk levels haven't changed. I've printed a fair amount of Epson Luster on it. I thought that was the gloss black cart.
So I was going though my storm photos but I must be drunk, cause like a kid, I see something floating, a being, a manifestation, a surreal being perhaps.

can you get detailed ink levels as in a % left? also have you managed to get an ICC and lin made for the printer?
the epson luster needs loads of ink, like over 300% ink weight.
i've done fuck all printing on my 3800, but as you'd expect i don't need to print from home.
oh yeah forgot to tell you about that "thing" i pm'ed you about. it's got new inks

yeah, shot the shots I posted with the remote from Quan. Also used a tripod though, 30 seconds exposure is quite a time

I like it
I like it more something like this though(a bot overdone on the colors, but I couldnt be arsed to spend more then 10 seconds PP-ing it )

I use a free profile from this place called booksmart studio (http://www.booksmartstudio.com). They've made a lot of custom profiles available for the 5000. The generic profile worked well, but the blue was off. I just made an adjustment layer in PS that adjusted the hue enough to compensate for the color differences
