Hard drive encryption

Do any of you guys know of a way to encrypt a hard drive with a usb thumb drive? Something that would really come handy with laptops. I've heard of it but haven't found it with the little searching I've done.

If you're on Vista Enterprise or Ultimate use Bitlocker.
