Man, i picked up this flyer last week that promised goa trance & all kinds of high powered energetic psychedelic stuff... of course i immediately became wildly enthousiastic. It was in this club i never heard of and after much nagging i even persuaded the missus, who is not into this stuff at all, to come along.

I was all excited, but when i got to the street there was nothing there... it was all very strange. I asked random passers by, asked several people working in several bars in the area. Nobody could tell me anything, all i got was blank stares. Then, after some thirty minutes of complete and utter frustration, it dawned on me: it was the desolate topless bar on the corner that played ghastly blues.

Some pig fucker had obviously played an awful joke on me, and clearly the only remedy was a lenghty visit to the nearby Vodka Bar.

Ah, I don't really like the music in truth. I suppose if it's made with a tb303 (which a lot of goa is), then it has to be pretty decent by default, but the sound just begins to grate after a while. Give me acid house anyday!

Closest I ever came to a goa/psy-trance party was a flyer I created for a party in Estonia.

I was in Goa in the 1990's, they were selling CDs of that stuff in the flea market there. Don't much care for it myself, but it is great dance music.

Goa or trance, to me, is simply music, and simply another genre of music that i happen to like. No god, no tripping, just a beat and some relaxed/psyched music
